Events
Events

Events are how most Aether and any additional resources are gained, since there's no stealing from other players. Events reward resources for killing units (wood, stone, iron and food). Other events reward Aether, and sometimes culture or science. If you want to farm more resources than what your villages produce, you'll have to complete events. There are currently 8 event types in Aether Kingdoms.
Events can be seen on the Map by the yellow, red or green icon in the bottom right of a tile.
Clicking on a tile with an active event on the map will show the event screen.
Native units killed at Objective tiles do not provide rewards.
Tips
General
- Aim to lose no more than 1-2 units per event. If clearing an event would cost more troops than that, skip it and build more units instead.
- Account for food upkeep — if your army is undersized, you may lose more in food than you gain in resources.
- Wait for the highest stage when possible. If you won't be online in time, clearing an earlier stage is still worthwhile.
- Keep a mix of offensive and defensive units to cover all event types and save on travel time.
- Native Outpost and Native Ambush can still spawn surrounding events up to Stage 4 — do not clear them before then.
- Clearing events opens space for new ones to spawn; staying active on events in your area is generally better than waiting.
Month 1
- Enemies are limited to militia and archers during the first month.
- On offensive events, cavalry are the most effective unit.
- On defensive events, spearmen are best until you unlock lancers via the Smithing science.
Resource events
Resource events are completed by sending the required amount of resources to the event before the timer runs out.
Mining Location
|
Rewards: Aether, Culture, Science |
How it works
Send resources to an ongoing mining operation to get rewards. Mining operations that are completed have a chance to discover an Aether Deposit.
Resources can be sent in separate moments, in case not enough merchants are available. The event can be completed by multiple deliveries by the same player or multiple players. If multiple players contribute, the reward is shared.
If the event is completed before resources reach it, or extra resources are sent to the event, or the event expires before the merchant reaches the event, then these are immediately refunded to the player.
If some resources have been already delivered and the timer expires before the goal, the delivered resources are lost.
Strategy
Sending resources to an event that rewards Aether is always convenient. Culture and science are also good rewards if the player needs to boost their current values.
Culture is especially worth it the first days of a server for reaching the second village threshold quickly.
Since Aether Deposits have a short 1-1.5 hour window, keep one spare merchant available when completing a Mining Location so it can be dispatched immediately when the deposit appears.
Aether Deposit
|
Rewards: Aether |
How it works
A high-value mining operation that's only available for a short 1-1.5 hour window. A successful attempt can reveal an additional Aether Deposit. Failure to extract the Aether will result in an Incoming Attack.

If the event is completed before resources reach it, or extra resources are sent to the event, or the event expires before the merchant reaches the event, then these are immediately refunded to the player.
If some resources have been already delivered and the timer expires before the goal, the delivered resources are lost.
Strategy
Aether Deposits typically cost about a third of what a Mining Location costs and reward about half the Aether, making them very efficient to complete. Always fulfill these on sight.
Point of Interest
|
Rewards: Aether, Culture, Science |
How it works
This event functions similar to a Mining Location, but with a higher chance to reward culture or science instead of Aether. Points of Interest will only spawn when an area of the map is filled with other events. Completing or failing this event does not spawn any further events.

Culture is especially worth it the first days of a server for reaching the second village threshold quickly.
Attack events
Attack events require your army to go to the location and face the natives as attacker.
Gathering Forces
|
Rewards: Resources |
How it works
Enemy troops gather spread out over several stages. You can clear the troops at each stage, but the event will only disappear if the final stage is cleared. If the event is not cleared, it will turn into a Native Outpost or Native Ambush.
Unlike Gathering Warband, troops sent here return home after each attack and do not remain on-site. You need to manually resend troops for each stage you want to clear.
Each unit killed rewards 20 of each resource (wood, stone, iron and food).
Strategy
It is not worth clearing these events. If the final stage is left alone, Gathering Forces will 100% certainly spawn a Native Outpost or Native Ambush — both of which reward Aether.
Use idle offensive units to farm resources at earlier stages, but do not send troops on the final stage. This keeps the event alive and guarantees a better spawned event in its place.
Native Outpost
|
Rewards: Resources, increasing Aether per stage |
How it works
An outpost that becomes more defended over time (1 level of wall per stage). Clearing all troops at the outpost will complete the event. With each stage, the defenders will store more Aether in the outpost. A Native Outpost might spawn events around it if it's not cleared out.
Over the server time, stronger troops are added to the pool of enemies. After a month, spears and longbows will start to show up.
Each unit killed rewards 20 of each resource (wood, stone, iron and food).
Strategy
Waiting for the last stage will reward the most Aether, but a lower level is also worth doing in many cases.
Sending 4x the amount of troops at the event is usually convenient, but based on the server progression it is better to simulate some battles to get the most out of it and not lose resources.
Defense events
Defense events require your armies to stand their ground and defend against aggressive natives.
Incoming Attack
|
Rewards: Resources, Aether |
How it works
Send troops here to defend the position against an incoming native attack. You work together with troops from other players, no matter their Empire, to defeat the native attack.
If not defended in time: there is a 50% chance the event refreshes and starts over, a 45% chance it becomes a Native Outpost, and a 5% chance it disappears entirely.
Each unit killed rewards 20 of each resource (wood, stone, iron and food).
Strategy
As the troops will wait for the timer to expire, it is good to send troops to events close to expiration, but that will still reach it in time.
If too many active players are around, these can be ignored in favor of Native Ambush with defensive troops.
Gathering Warband
|
Rewards: Resources |
How it works
Aggressive forces are gathering in this location. They arrive in waves. You can reinforce the location to fight each wave. An undefended wave will join up with the next one. Once fully arrived, they will set up a Native Ambush or Native Outpost.
Each unit killed rewards 20 of each resource (wood, stone, iron and food).
Strategy
These events are good for early game resource farming. Sending a group of 10-20 militia to a small event (4-6 troops) means that over several hours the player will get resources without losing any troops.
To maximize Aether gain, recall your troops before the final wave arrives. A failed Gathering Warband is 100% certain to spawn either a Native Outpost or Native Ambush — both of which reward Aether.
The best moment to do the Gathering Warband is at night or when the player cannot play for a longer amount of time.
As other players can also join the event, it might be good to recall troops if too many foreign troops are already at the event and search for better events.
Native Ambush
|
Rewards: Resources, increasing Aether per stage |
How it works
The rough location of an ambush is known. All you can do is send an army to trigger the ambush and defend against the attackers. If you don't, it might spawn additional events.
The Aether reward scales with the event's stage. At stage 0, no Aether is rewarded. The event can advance up to between stage 5 and 7.
Each unit killed rewards 20 of each resource (wood, stone, iron and food).
Strategy
The event completes as soon as the player troops arrive, making it a prime target for defensive players that want to farm aggressively.
Like Native Outpost, the Aether reward scales with the event's stage. Waiting for higher stages rewards more Aether.
