Just like other 4X games, after you first explore your surroundings on the map, you need to expand your settlements as soon as possible to prepare for later stages of the game.

This guide shows how you can quickly settle your secondary village. Note that this might not be the optimal way of playing the game as its only goal is to settle quickly. Proceed with caution!

Assuming you are aiming to settle your first expand within 3 days, you should avoid upgrading anything that has a return of investment (RoI) of over 3 days. You should only produce things that contribute to your goal of first expand.

Following is the list of things you need for first expand:

• Town Hall, Library and Theater level 5
• Building level 1 of all buildings to gain population.
• Upgrading all economy buildings to level 2 to get their reward
• Upgrading one field of each type of resource to level 4 to gain its reward
• Warehouse level 7
• Food Cellar level 5
• 1 Settler

The order of upgrading the above buildings is up to you but you should follow the tasks system in the game to get the rewards of these upgrades (if any) in order, and use the reward to make the next thing. Also, prioritize making theater and Town Hall first.

If you are low on resources and waiting to gain enough resources to upgrade the next building, you should queue a full culture project with a builder. After you are have made all required items for your second village, you should queue culture projects with builders non-stop until you gain enough culture. Culture projects provide you 30 culture per hour. Along with the passive 20 culture per hour you have from Theater level 5, you will be able to generate 50 culture per hour with culture projects.

During the first two days of this process, you should try to participate in all supply events that give Aether as reward and use the Aether you gain from tasks or events to buy resources (250 of each) and keep making the things listed above.

In the third day, when you are only waiting on the required culture for village, you should participate in supply events that reward culture as well as Aether.

Upgrading marketplace to level 3 is great to be able to attend more events. If you can find lots of events around you and there isn't a lot of competition, you can upgrade your marketplace to higher levels to be able to do more events. Supply events can expedite your time to settle your first expand greatly.

You can also participate in Gathering warband defense events with the units you get from the tasks system.

Note that you can also improve some extra resource fields as long as their ROI is before your target of settling your first expand.
